Online Case Discussion (Jan 15, 2019) with Dr. Miriam Komaromy

On January 15, 2019, VHATTC, University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC was very pleased to welcome Ms. Miriam Komaromy and Ms. Julie Rosen to VHATTC office and participate in our online case discussion with the MMT clinics.

Assoc. Prof. Miriam Komaromy is currently spending 6 months in Hanoi, Vietnam as a Fulbright Scholar, helping to set up educational networks to teach health care providers to treat addiction. In the United States, she serves as Deputy Director of the Project ECHO, University of New Mexico, and she is also on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). With the support of Dr. Miriam and the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Do Van Dung, the doctors from Di An (Binh Duong) and District 6 (HCMC) went on updating the cases of high-dosed patient, dose division, patients using synthetic marijuana and having psychotic signs.

The following week on January 22, 2019, Ms. Julie Rosen - An EMDR therapist will have a presentation on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and its relation to SUD.

We hope to have the opportunity to meet, exchange and learn more from two experts for upcoming events.
