On 24 January 2018, VHATTC- UMP welcomed experts from the Addiction Technology Transfer Centers (ATTCs) in South Africa and Ukraine, with the participation of Dr. Sherry Larkins, director of the Integrated Substance Abuse Program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), having a 2-day visit at VHATTC-UMP.
The visit went smoothly and successfully with the support of the PAC HCMC, Department of Social Evils Prevention in HCMC and the facilities that have spent time to welcome the delegation. The delegation visited the Thu Duc Rehabilitation Center, HCMC Psychiatric Hospital and HAIVN office to learn experiences and practical models in these organizations.
Under the sponsorship of SAMHSA and support from UCLA, VHATTC-UMP Center was established in late 2014, so far VHATTC-UMP has 3 years experience in organizing technology transfer activities in addiction and HIV treatment, contributes to the fight against substance use disorders and the spread of the HIV epidemic in Vietnam.
The visit also acts an opportunity to exchange experiences and learn from each international ATTCs, as well as ideas and suggestions for workplans in the future.
